Las Palmas figured out the trick most resorts fumble: give the kids their kingdom (big pools, waterslides, a game room) and give the adults theirs, with designated grown-up pools and the Uno Mas bar upstairs running proper happy-hour specials. Add villas with garages and multiple bedrooms, a couple of on-site restaurants, a mini-mart, and a walkable strip of shops and food nearby, and whole family reunions run themselves here.
Midweek it goes quiet and cozy; weekends it earns its family-favorite reputation at full volume.
Local tips
Ask for a higher floor for the views. The pool happy hour's two-for-one specials are the adults' scheduled event of the day; plan the kids' slide time accordingly.
