Max's is the small family spot that refuses to pick a lane, and wins anyway: breakfast through dinner, Mexican plates next to pizza next to a French dip, in a snug room hung with nostalgia and an outdoor patio for the overflow. Breakfast is the quiet star: pancakes with crispy fried edges, chilaquiles rojas with a following, bacon that has no business being this good.
It's part of a local family of joints (Bryan's Sports Bar is the sibling), and it runs on the same house style: friendly, cash-minded, and better than it needs to be.
