Peñasco del Sol is the big one on the water, with rooms facing the gulf and a beach you reach without crossing a road. There is a pool and a restaurant, and enough event space that a fair number of guests are here for somebody else's wedding. The palapas over the sand are the part people describe afterwards rather than the room. It holds onto its guests: some of the reviews are written by people measuring their stays in years rather than nights.

Midweek is noticeably quieter than a weekend, which is the difference between a large hotel and a busy one. The palapas fill early on a good morning.
