The Reef is camping with the Gulf directly in front of it, on the rocky shore rather than the sand, which is the difference between here and the parks further along. Full hookups and proper facilities, and staff who get named in reviews by people who have been arriving twice a year for years. The restaurant is more than a convenience: the breakfast is a real one, and people who are not camping here still turn up for it.
Local tips
Cash or check only, so sort that out on the way in rather than at the gate. Watch for the man with the wagon and his grandson selling tamales his wife makes, which is the thing people come back for after they have stopped camping here.
