El Barco is the oyster stop people remember: shucked fresh, served simply, in an open-air spot with a view and an unhurried calm. The aguachile is bright, the stingray tacos are the adventurous order and they pay off, and the fried fish arrives in portions that embarrass the plate. It's run by a local women's cooperative, which means every peso lands where it should, and the whole experience costs remarkably little.
Local tips
It's outdoors with no AC, so go for the golden hours, not the noon blaze. You can bring your own bottle or buy theirs; either way is welcome. Live music some evenings, luck of the draw.
What to order
A dozen oysters minimum (you'll order the second dozen anyway) plus the aguachile and the stingray tacos (tacos gobernador for the cautious).
