A tiny Japanese kitchen where the hot plates outshine the rolls. Seven tables, no alcohol, real following.
Saikó is the small Japanese-style room locals fill up: six or seven tables, kept clean, with a kitchen whose hot side earns the loyalty. The katsu and the crunchy chicken are the reliable orders, the fried rice with crab and avocado has fans, and the vegetable soup runs delicate rather than salty, which regulars notice and appreciate.
The rolls lean border-style, cream cheese in most; order nigiri if fish is the point, or lean on the kitchen plates. No alcohol served.
Local tips
It's a small room. The bathroom is outside; ask for the key.
What to order
The katsu, the crunchy chicken, and the crab-and-avocado fried rice. Nigiri over the rolls if you're particular about sushi rice.
