Homero's cozy room: huge coconut shrimp and warm artisan bread, with the date-night reputation to match.
The Blue Marlin is the small, cozy dinner house that snowbirds guard like a family recipe: owner Homero on the floor making tables feel at home, warm homemade bread with garlic butter arriving unbidden, and coconut shrimp (huge, lightly battered, served with piña colada sauce and fresh pineapple salsa) that converts people mid-bite. The crab quesadilla and shrimp bisque round out a menu priced noticeably below what the quality suggests, and the Cadillac margaritas do their part.
It's intimate by design and better for it: date nights, milestone birthdays, the dinner where the staff dims the lights because you asked. When a mariachi band wanders in, let them.
Local tips
Open into the evening later than much of town; a proper 9pm dinner works here. Groups at off-hours sometimes get the room nearly to themselves; ask nicely and the staff will set the mood.
What to order
The coconut shrimp above all. Crab quesadilla and shrimp bisque alongside, with a Cadillac margarita.
