The Cholla Bay breakfast pilgrimage: chile rellenos with a water view, four days a week only.
Xochitl's has been feeding Cholla Bay for over thirty years, and people who've been coming that whole time still argue about whether the chile relleno or the famous tortilla soup is the reason. The move: head upstairs to the covered patio for the water view, and order breakfast at whatever hour you like; the menu runs all day with no set breakfast cutoff, which is exactly how a beach morning should work. The cinnamon rolls come out fresh and roughly the size of a hubcap. The chilaquiles and the rellenos with real chunks of potato settle the argument for most people, and that patio does the rest.
Local tips
Open Thursday through Sunday, so plan the Cholla Bay run around it. Sit upstairs.
